Part-time Sales Associate

POSITION This is a summer contract position running from June 2022 to October 2022.
SHIFT AVAILABILITY Applicant must be available to work weekdays after school (during school year), during the day in the summer, and Saturdays (including working at the Georgetown Farmer’s Market)
PAY $14.10 - $15.00 per hour
REPORTS TO business owner or manager
ABOUT Foliage is a one-stop shop, located in downtown Georgetown.  We proudly offer a curated selection of houseplants, pots & ceramics, plant care accessories, seasonal items, and Ontario native wildflower seeds. We also offer a variety of plant services.  Our goal is for everyone to feel comfortable and confident when bringing their new plant home.  We strive to provide excellent customer service.
JOB DESCRIPTION Foliage is looking to add an enthusiastic part-time Sales Associate to our team.  We are looking for someone who is passionate about plants and will build a great rapport with our customers and clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plant care - watering, repotting, pest management, cleaning
• Customer service – answering questions from customers, assisting customers
• Inventory assistance – receiving inventory, inspecting plants, cleaning plants, pricing plants
• Store design – adding new inventory, making space for new plants, or reorganizing shelves
• Store maintenance – cleaning floors, cleaning shelves, removing garbage, recycling, etc
• Lifting heavy objects – large plants, trees, pots, ceramics, soils
• Cashier – use the POS system, handling money, counting cash register

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Clear and effective communication with customers
• Quick and effective problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
• Ability to adapt and learn quickly
• Organization and attention to detail
• Basic mathematics and financial knowledge
• Great energy and enthusiasm
• Ability to work as a team player and independently
• Basic computer and technology skills
